Wynn A. Gerhard, Esq.

Wynn A. Gerhard is the Elder Justice Fellow at Massachusetts Guardianship Policy Institute and Guardian Community Trust, working on education and policy advocacy to strengthen due process protections in guardianship, expansion of support and funding for public guardians, and to improve oversight of guardians and conservators. From 1987 to 2020, she was Senior Attorney and Managing Attorney of the Elder, Health and Disability Unit at Greater Boston Legal Services (GBLS). She also worked for Legal Services of Cape Cod and Islands, and Neighborhood Legal Services in Buffalo NY. Wynn has been committed to guardianship reform in Massachusetts for more than three decades. She was a founding member of the Institute and of Public Guardian Services, LLC, which provides free guardians to incapacitated, at risk elders and people with disabilities in Plymouth, Suffolk and Norfolk Counties. Wynn was Chair of the Coalition of Organizations to Improve Elder Care, working to improve the quality of long-term care services in Massachusetts from 2000 to 2020. Wynn was appointed to serve on two Special Legislative Committees, to investigate and make recommendations on prevention of elder abuse, and on elder economic security.
